The PokeSurvivor guide in one minute
Open the game window, press to start, and choose Play as guest if you want a quick trial. Complete the opening quiz or choose another partner, then press Play in the main menu. Move around enemies while your active move attacks automatically. Collect experience and choose one of three upgrade cards. This PokeSurvivor guide separates those run choices from permanent upgrades: guest progress is not saved when you leave.
Start with the guest screen
Begin the PokeSurvivor guide by opening the player on our homepage. The game itself comes from the original developer’s website. Press to start, then select Play as guest for an account-free trial. The game warns that this mode does not save progress, so treat it as a practice session.
An account inside the original game is separate from this fan site. If the framed game is cramped or account access fails, open the original game directly rather than expecting this page to manage its credentials.

Choose a partner you want to learn
The opening flow asks eight personality questions and recommends a partner. Choose another lets you change that result. Your initial selection includes 29 partners: the starter trios from nine generations, plus Psyduck and Slowpoke. A quiz result is a friendly starting suggestion, not a measured strength ranking.
For your first attempt, this PokeSurvivor guide recommends learning one partner’s starting attack before switching repeatedly. Partners normally learn Normal moves and moves matching their own type, so your choice also changes the available attack pool.

PokeSurvivor guide to movement and attacks
Move with WASD or the arrow keys. Your currently selected attack fires automatically, so positioning matters more than repeatedly pressing an attack button. Select a move with keys 1–4 or its icon; Q and E cycle between moves. Esc or P pauses a solo run.
Click the game window before using the keyboard. The PokeSurvivor guide follows the current Controls screen: use 1–3 to choose a level-up card. On touch devices, hold and drag an empty part of the playfield for the floating joystick, tap a move icon to switch, and use the pause button.

Make one useful level-up choice at a time
Collect experience to level up. Each choice offers three cards covering new moves, improvements to existing moves, or stats for the current run. Normal play starts with up to four move slots; advanced bonding can change that arrangement. Watch your selected move instead of assuming all learned attacks fire together.
The next PokeSurvivor guide checkpoint is move evolution. A qualifying move needs its own level five and its required stat card taken during this run, then you choose its gold evolution card on a later level-up. Raising the player to level five alone is not the same condition.

PokeSurvivor guide to permanent upgrades
Between runs, the Upgrades menu spends in-game coins on permanent improvements. These are different from stat cards selected during battle. For example, permanent Strength does not replace the current-run Power card required by some move evolutions. This PokeSurvivor guide keeps the two screens separate because their similar benefits can be confusing.
During a run, keep moving in broad loops, avoid marked ground hazards, and pay attention to healers or shield-casters. The author recommends these habits.

Finish with the right saving expectations
Before closing the game, check Settings → Account. Online guest progress is not saved. An original-game online account can save collections, coins, upgrades and statistics, but you should inspect its displayed sync status before moving to another device. A local account in an offline build saves in that browser instead.
This PokeSurvivor guide does not promise that a closed battle resumes at the same position. Saved progression and an unfinished run are different things. After a practice attempt, return to the main menu, review what you learned, and choose whether you want to use the original game’s account options.

Questions before your next run
Does this PokeSurvivor guide identify the best starter?
No. The opening quiz recommends a partner, and this page explains how to begin with one. A reliable ranking would need a stated comparison method and more battle testing. Choose a familiar partner and learn its active attack first.
Why does my keyboard scroll the page?
Click inside the game window so it receives keyboard input. Then use the movement keys shown above. If space remains awkward, use the player’s fullscreen control or open the original game directly. The PokeSurvivor guide does not change the game’s own controls.
Will a guest run transfer to an account later?
Do not assume so. The current guest entry says progress is not saved, and this PokeSurvivor guide makes no transfer promise. Use the original game’s Account screen to review its current choices before investing time in a collection.
